The Story

Amazing Grace: A Tribute to You, The Story of Us is the author's memoir. It's a spiritual journey of a mother and daughter; the conclusion is peace, be still. A journey anointed with the potential to revolutionize the thoughts of mankind. This inspirational book focuses on social challenges including senseless killings and substance abuse. It has a subtle political twist that considers the sacrifices of Martin Luther King; unforgettable change. Their time together echoes the sentiments of President Barack Obama by depicting the effects from helping; circumstances change. A story offering the only love capable to change lives: John 3:16.

This love story written for Christmas, but a pleasure to read all year is filled with real-life occurrences of discouragement, excitement, failures, ambitions, disappointments and successes. The book has all the elements of worship: praise, testimonies, song, thanksgiving and a message of love from God. The power of Jesus is demonstrated and God's love is tested and proven. Be ready to laugh and cry; yet overwhelmingly, joy supersedes sorrow. Amazing Grace: A Tribute to You, The Story of Us is a timely publication, for this a new political era in the United States. The literature, cleverly written and easily read, reminds a sometimes forgetful world of who is control: God!

Book Reviews

Midwest Book Review

Faith is simply a powerful thing. "Amazing Grace: A Tribute to You, The Story of Us" presents Author Donna Watford's story of how her faith carried her through a dark time in her life and allowed her to move on after the devastating loss of her mother. Hoping to inspire faith and bringing light to Jesus' greatest gift, "Amazing Grace" is worth the read for those going through a rough time themselves.

Zach Myers says...

This book is an inspiring story of a girl growing up in Philadelphia, PA with her mother, who was her Rock and foundation in finding a strong bond with Christ. This book shows how in keeping Christ first, all things are possible. It takes you through how people can live with little and believe in Jesus and have so much; how if you put God first, He will make a change in your life. Mommie was a living angel who guided this young lady through the path of life, showing her the way to Jesus without pushing her. If you love Jesus, this book will show you faith you seldom see. It will inspire you to want to know Jesus more and want to become closer to Him. If you don't know Jesus, this book will show you the love of Christ and how He can impact and change your life. This book reminded me or the relationship I had with my mother and how I copped with her passing and reiterated Jesus can and will see you through anything and everything, its shows Jesus is the light and the way to life and living. Thanks for this production Donna Watford, the book was an enjoyable read and I am looking for more literature from you (the Writer) in the future! Highly recommended!

Woman's History Month

From a little girl who loves the Lord, to a woman who loves Him more. RN, Writer, Committed to the causes of Jesus the Christ.  This what I been doing all this time.  I am excited about this second project.

As "Amazing Grace" will always be my baby; I also recognize God is allowing me to realize that He's not only blessed me with a talent, but He has given me a mission in writing as well. Therefore, as in my debut title and as in everything that I compose; again, I write to show you Jesus the Christ. While reading my stories, not only will you find them to be an enjoyable read, but my writings include social issues and health facts that must be addressed. Truth matters.

"JOY-- Jesus on You", Philadelphia's musical sensation by lyrics composes a love song.  “JOY“, appropriately named is a young lady's journey through a deceitful marriage and calculated divorce.  No one vows in marriage anticipating the walk down the aisle would lead to the United States Supreme Court.

It’s been talked about for awhile, and everyone has an opinion, but a legal nurse consultant named Love takes hers to the highest court in the land.  After learning the criteria for review, she didn't want to “go it alone” and presented as many she could in a once in a lifetime opportunity.

A Registered Nurse argues for the health of our nation, requests equity, and reveals infringements on health.  Welcome to Women’s History month.

The End

When it’s all said and done; I just want to be called, good people. A little about me.

I’m Donna from Philadelphia, raised in South Philly and always lovin’ up on my native roots. I’m an only kid, and my best friend in the world was my mom: Carolyn V. Jackson. You name it; we walked through it together. There was nothing I couldn't and didn't
tell her. Through her sacrifices, I attended Tuskegee Institute where I established lifelong relationships.

Honestly, I did most of my journey with my eyes closed, but I never traveled alone. Jesus has always been there for me. So as I stumbled through darkness; His presence eventually allowed a stroll into a glimmer of hope. Graduated: Registered Nurse and I’m always available to God. I dedicated my career to Him. Graduation from nursing school was an amazingly, proud day for my mom. And she absolutely deserved that day. She was Mommie to me, and my inspiration. Love her.

I’ve always loved the dirty south, so I moved to the ATL. I brought my mom with me. Blessed up on a husband. I married the law: Ricky. Another cherished memory for my mom. Was doin’ my thing; life was good, when everything changed. Woke up to the day that Mommie was gone. Never experienced life without her, so I did as she said, “If there is a time that I am not with you, never forget that Jesus will never leave or forsake you.” She had never been wrong, so as I continued my pilgrimage, I looked to Jesus for a brighter day. It was at my darkest hour that I asked God if I could tell our story, and as a result, I walked into the marvelous light. HE's a very present help. Love Him too.

The Lord did me one better; He said publish it too. New to all of this, and not understanding the timing of God; name the mistake, I made it. But it’s not my first rodeo with the Master, so you’ve probably not ever met a more confident neophyte and I love the lessons He’s taught me. Started haphazardly promoting the book, only to learn that there was more to understand. It’s never about you when it’s God’s will. The scheme of Heavenly things is always greater. So He reconnected me with a group of friends I met in Tuskegee to help me run a nonprofit that was placed in my spirit.

The corporation: Jesus HELP (Heaven Extending Life Promises), is a faith-based organization that will address health, social and economical issues. Our focus is to: encourage the socially-economically deprived, empower through the arts, educate in the nursing science, be the voice for speechless women, and offer employment opportunity in a stagnant economy. A company created with humanity in mind. Mission: Educate. Encourage. Empower. Giving back...

I’m an encourager. My writing reflects not only that characteristic, but my Kingdom values of love, as well. My debut title: Amazing Grace: A Tribute to You, The Story of Us is my memoir. I bear all to help others. In telling my story, my mission and God-given talent was revealed. I’ve been blessed with a ministry in Health and Social Welfare. We’re all here for purpose. I write from my heart to yours, to inspire and motivate you to find your cause. I'm here to bring awareness to issues of the Heart.

I’m not in it to hear job well done, good and faithful servant; you know, I’m that real girl, made some mistakes. But I’ve lived long enough to say, “Had it not been for Jesus on my side.” I thank God for a book appropriately titled for my life. For real, all I really need to hear is job completed. For God so loved the world, He gave us Jesus... Bless you.

He Lives

I say it all the time, “If you have a hope, you’re still in the game.” I don’t ever remember living during a time in history that it appears so many are losing hope. We are hearing story after story regarding the feelings of defeat. Bills stacked, accounts overdrawn; people are merely living from day to day. As Wall Street manipulates their come back, why is my back feeling pressured. The less I have to give, the more is being taken. The phone is ringing for payment as I juggle to eat. And as I listen to debates explaining why I am, or am not entitled to the American dream, my children are going without. These are tryin’ times. Had you not noticed me crying as I suffer? Do you not understand the anguish in not knowing? Why are you playing games? For the life you alter is that of my own. On bended knees I approach throne, asking for direction while journeying through the unknown. The good of this, “I know my redeemer lives.”

The Pain of Hannah

"And she made a vow, saying, 'O LORD Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant's misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.'" ~1 Samuel 1:11 (NIV)

We've all suffered in some capacity as Hannah. I know I've cried out in good company; Job and even Jesus had to cry out to the God of Israel. I've learned to rejoice in suffering; for He is a God who not only hears, but answers those who are in despair. I can say when I was hungry; He fed me, jobless; He supplied all my needs and when it appeared all hope was gone; He smiled.

As mothers are celebrated, I thank God for a mother with the presence of mind such as Hannah; as a baby, she gave me back to Him. Hannah was blessed with Samuel, Heard of God, a wise man gifted to encourage people to change their ways.

What will God birth from your pain?

Proud Day: Health Care Reform

As a registered nurse, I’ve cared for countless Americans who were without medical insurance; as it has always been a pleasure, it was discouraging as well. Really, what was the sense to provide discharge planning to an individual who would not be able to purchase the medications on discharge? Pointless.

I’ve watched the debates, and had to consider; what type of heart does not care enough to see his neighbor well. Have we actually come to a place in history that the struggles of so many have become only words in a text? From left to right I heard the arguments. I looked to the right, and thought; surely the idea of becoming sick without insurance has never been fathomed. And as my eyes glanced to the left; my heart pleaded for a fight.

Today I smile knowing from my own experience; the first draft is never final, but it is an opportunity to move towards perfection. I salute the tireless efforts and in some cases, sacrifices; to do what’s right for all Americans. Praise God!

The Spring Is Here

We’ve had a blessed winter, and although it was difficult for so many; we’ve survived. The winter of 2010 is symbolic of life as well. I believe God for a revival on the land. As I’ve prayed many nights for His mighty protection on us His people; I’ve learned to endure the difficult days because the Creator of the heavens and earth has a way of restoring in plentiful for long-suffering.

With every new season; there are endless possibilities and with God, each one is within reach. My name is Donna M. Watford; I simply go by: Donna. I’ve embraced this my new season that allows me to share and enlighten others. My purpose is to encourage, empower, and share the good news of Jesus the Christ.

Death In The Flesh

Clean and sober, pinnacle words for an addict. Intoxication, it’s a dark world; you learn to survive in a vicious cycle. You bargain with you time and time again; always making the same promise to yourself, this is it! Yet, somehow you find yourself in a state of mind that battles the good with the evil; your heart wishes for you to quit and grace contracts it one more time; another chance, still you succumb to the dark voice that calls you by name. Romans 7:19 reminds me we all suffer with something; death in the flesh.
